Mission

The Prayer and Liturgy committee assists in the spiritual growth of all who attend Our Lady of Wisdom Church. It coordinates the liturgical life of the parish under the guidance of the Pastor and Associate Pastor. The Committee seeks to help all members of the community appreciate and celebrate more fully the various liturgical celebrations, most importantly the Holy Eucharist, source and summit of the Christian life. It also fosters the communal and personal prayer life of students and parishioners, assisting them in growth along their journey of faith with Jesus Christ.

Activities

  • Oversees the Formation and training of Liturgical Ministers:
    • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
    • Lectors
    • Altar Servers
    • Music Ministers
    • Sacristans
    • Ushers; Greeters
  • Helps to plan Liturgies as well as works with RCIA for the various Liturgical Rites
  • Provides opportunities for spiritual growth of parishioners through prayer/study groups, retreats, parish missions, etc.
  • Assists in maintaining church decor
  • Coordinates devotional prayer
  • Promotes prayer for Vocations to the priesthood and religious life
