Congratulations to Demi Varuso who was just accepted as the newest postulant for the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Demi is from New Orleans and is a junior here at UL. She is very involved with the Ragin’ Cajun Catholics.
Demi will join two other UL students, Heather Sikes and Joanna Casadaban, this August when they officially enter and begin formation with the Sisters.
They will be living off campus at the Hernandez House which acts as the Sisters’ convent while still attending classes at UL.
We had do begin renovations on the convent in order to make a place for these young women to live and to study. While beginning the work we found some unexpected (and quite serious) problems with the existing structure. This means the extent of the renovations that will be necessary is much greater than we first thought.
Please pray for these young women and that the Lord can continue to bless our ministry with many vocations.
Pray too for our renovation project. More information will be coming soon on the renovations and how you can help to save our convent on campus.
